Suffolk Construction aims to scale New York office toward $2B

Suffolk says New York revenue rose to $1.3 billion from roughly $350 million when its current New York general manager started, with a goal of reaching $2.0 billion within two years.

Commercial Observer profiles Tom Giordano, general manager of New York for Suffolk Construction, who is leading the office in a plan to expand construction management projects across New York City, Westchester, and Long Island, including hospitality, health care, and residential work.

Giordano said Suffolk has grown materially in the past five and a half years, adding that revenue went from about $350 million when he started to $1.3 billion, and that the firm is targeting roughly $2.0 billion annually within the next two years.

The interview also points to a shift in the New York portfolio over time, with Giordano saying the office was about 40% residential when he started but is now more balanced, with notable activity in health care, including hospitals.

Projects highlighted include a six-story Northwell Health pavilion on Long Island and a nine-story expansion at White Plains Hospital, along with work spanning hotels, life sciences facilities, higher education, and public works.
