Allianz posts record Q2 operating profit and higher business volume

Operating profit rose 10.6% year over year to €4.9 billion, while total business volume increased to €45.6 billion for the quarter.

Allianz reported second-quarter 2026 results showing operating profit rose 10.6% to a record €4.9 billion, alongside total business volume of €45.6 billion, according to Reinsurance News.

The insurer said internal growth reached 5.7% for the quarter, supported by positive contributions across segments, with Asset Management delivering particularly strong growth and double-digit increases in Asset Management and Life/Health driving the operating profit gain.

Allianz also reported that shareholders’ core net income for Q2 2026 was €2.6 billion, down 12.7% year over year. It attributed underlying growth of 10% to adjustments for a divestment gain in the prior year and offsetting measures related to the sale of its stake in Allianz’s Indian Joint Ventures.

For the first half of 2026, Allianz said operating profit increased 8.6% to €9.4 billion, a record level, and total business volume reached €98.6 billion with internal growth of 4.3%. Shareholders’ core net income for H1 2026 increased 15.5% to €6.4 billion, with annualized core return on equity of 20.7% in H1 2027.
