Barry Gosin to step down as Newmark CEO on Dec. 31

Newmark said Gosin has led the CEO role since 1979 and will move to chairman of its real estate operating company to support a board-chosen successor.

Newmark said longtime CEO Barry Gosin will step down on Dec. 31, ending his day-to-day leadership after holding the post since 1979.

The company said the 75-year-old Gosin will become chairman of Newmark & Company Real Estate, the firm’s operating company, to help enable a seamless transition as his successor is named by Newmark’s board by year-end.

Newmark framed the move as part of an orderly handoff, saying its strategy is working and that opportunities ahead are substantial, while Gosin said he wants to focus on issues that will make a difference for the company during the transition.

The article also notes Newmark’s scale, including more than 10,000 professionals across 195 offices, and references the firm’s 2024 second-quarter results and expectations for double-digit top- and bottom-line growth for a third straight year.
