Bitcoin stays near $64,300 ahead of US jobs data as metals rally

CoinDesk notes silver is up more than 4% and gold is about 1% higher, while bitcoin remains flat ahead of the payrolls release.

Bitcoin was largely flat around the $64,300 level ahead of the next major macro catalyst, the US jobs report, as traders awaited fresh data to guide risk appetite, according to CoinDesk live market updates.

CoinDesk linked the broader backdrop to shifting inflation concerns, citing that Brent climbed after stalled Hormuz talks, a development it said has been a headwind for bitcoin across the summer.

In parallel, metals were a clear source of relative strength. Silver surged more than 4% over 24 hours to above $64 an ounce, while gold rose about 1% and traded near $4,300 an ounce.

CoinDesk also pointed to an “AI slowdown” narrative, saying some rotation out of AI stocks has supported demand for precious metals, even as bitcoin held steady before the payrolls print.
