REMAX and Keller Williams get final approval for Batton 1 settlement
The approved deal requires Keller Williams to pay $20.0 million and REMAX to pay $8.5 million, with claims due Aug. 25, 2026.
HousingWire reports that Judge LaShonda Hunt granted final approval to the Batton 1 settlement agreements for REMAX and Keller Williams after a fairness hearing.
Under the approved terms, Keller Williams will pay $20.0 million and REMAX will pay $8.5 million into the settlement funds, and claims are due Aug. 25, 2026.
The court found the settlements fair and adequate, with no class objections or opt outs recorded in the orders. As a result of the final approval, the case is dismissed against REMAX and Keller Williams.
The Batton 1 lawsuit, filed in January 2021 and later amended in July 2022, alleges that National Association of Realtors policies inflated agent commissions and increased the home prices paid by buyers, and it named NAR and Anywhere Real Estate as additional defendants. HousingWire adds that NAR and Anywhere opted into a broader settlement tied to the Tuccori case.
