Radian’s Q2 revenue jumps 93% as specialty premiums rise

Radian said its Specialty segment, tied to its Inigo acquisition, generated USD 267 million of net premiums earned and posted a 98% combined ratio.

Radian Group Inc. reported a 93% jump in total revenue for the second quarter of 2026, rising to USD 575 million, after net premiums earned increased by USD 100 million to USD 504 million. The company said 53% of net premiums earned, or USD 267 million, came from its Specialty segment following the acquisition of Inigo, which marked Radian’s first full quarter with Inigo results as divestitures near completion.

For Q2’26, Radian generated net income from continuing operations of USD 118 million, down from USD 154 million in Q2’25. Pretax income was USD 151 million versus USD 193 million a year earlier, while adjusted pretax operating income rose slightly to USD 196 million from USD 191 million.

The Specialty segment recorded total gross premiums written of USD 504 million, including insurance GPW of USD 229 million and reinsurance GPW of USD 275 million. Radian reported a 98% combined ratio for the segment, with provisions for losses of USD 169 million that included reserve impacts tied to expected and potential claims related to the Middle East conflict, plus favourable reserve development of USD 24 million tied to prior accident year loss reserves.

Radian also highlighted its Mortgage segment, which recorded adjusted pretax operating income of USD 208 million and a 36% combined ratio, including an expense ratio of 23%. Primary insurance in force rose 3% year over year to USD 284 billion, while new insurance written climbed 14% to USD 16 billion, and net premiums earned grew to USD 236 million with a stable in-force premium yield of 38 basis points, according to Reinsurance News.
