Spot Bitcoin ETFs record strongest weekly inflows since mid-April
Net inflows topped $853 million in the latest week as a Coldcard wallet security breach renewed attention on self-custody risks.
US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds drew more than $853 million in net inflows last week, the strongest weekly performance since mid-April, according to Yahoo Finance and data from SoSoValue.
Inflows peaked at $244.4 million last Wednesday, following $211.5 million the prior day, with a five-day streak totaling about $853.5 million and cumulative net inflows reaching $52.18 billion.
The renewed demand comes after a security breach involving Coldcard wallets raised concerns about crypto self-custody. Yahoo Finance noted that a vulnerability in Coinkite's Coldcard hardware wallets was exploited to drain millions of bitcoin from thousands of addresses, with the attack estimated to have led to around $130 million worth of bitcoin stolen.
Yahoo Finance also said spot Ethereum ETFs pulled in about $245 million in weekly inflows, after sustained inflows across four trading sessions, while bitcoin was down about 50% from its October record high and largely traded between $60,000 and $67,000 since June.
