XRP lags majors as crypto market rises and XRP ETF inflows slow
XRP fell about 5% to around $1.03 last week, while broader crypto market cap rose to $2.19 trillion and XRP ETF inflows dropped about 93% to roughly $1 million.
XRP underperformed during the latest crypto rebound, slipping about 5% over the past week to around $1.03 even as bitcoin, ether, and solana climbed. CoinDesk reported that the broader crypto market gained about 1.4% in value, taking total market capitalization to roughly $2.19 trillion.
CoinDesk also cited ETF flow data showing XRP-focused exchange-traded funds recorded net inflows for a fourth straight week, but that new capital fell sharply. The outlet said inflows dropped about 93% week over week to around $1 million, while bitcoin and ether funds attracted hundreds of millions.
The muted response has drawn attention from traders and analysts, with CoinDesk pointing to regulatory uncertainty as a leading explanation. The outlet said the Senate delayed consideration of the CLARITY Act, which many view as key to clarifying XRP’s status, and that the vote is not expected until mid-September at the earliest.
CoinDesk added that analysts offered alternative interpretations for XRP’s price action. It said Iliya Kalchev of Nexo described XRP’s order flow as staying large with neutralizing volume, while Jake Claver argued XRP is increasingly positioned for a structural role in global finance and referenced the BIS’s tier-one asset classification.
