Freshpet leases 216K SF cold storage facility in Bethlehem
The dedicated refrigeration site at 757 Hellertown Road in the Lehigh Valley Industrial Park is set for delivery before year end, and it will support the pet food maker’s operations near its existing Bethlehem kitchen.
Freshpet has signed a full-building lease for a cold storage facility in Bethlehem, taking 216,000 square feet at 757 Hellertown Road in the Lehigh Valley Industrial Park, according to Bisnow.
The new refrigerated space is expected to be delivered before the end of the year and will be Freshpet’s first dedicated cold storage facility, chosen in part because it is near the company’s existing Bethlehem operations.
In a statement, Freshpet Chief Operating Officer Nicki Baty said the location provides greater operational control and scalability to keep pace with growth while positioning the company to support Freshpet for years to come.
The same regional deal sheet also covered other transactions, including Manas Equities’ purchase of a 35,000 square foot, 415-unit Valley Forge Self Storage facility in Phoenixville, as well as Fernmoor’s $85 million loan from Barings to acquire Mi-Place at Downingtown, a 318-unit complex.
