Lincoln Financial names Adam Cohen interim CFO after Neczypor exit

Chris Neczypor will stay with the company through the end of August to support a transition while Lincoln searches for a permanent CFO.

Lincoln Financial has appointed Adam Cohen, its Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer, as Interim Chief Financial Officer, according to Reinsurance News. The change follows the decision by Chief Financial Officer Chris Neczypor to leave the company to pursue another opportunity outside the industry.

Neczypor will remain with Lincoln through the end of August to help ensure a smooth transition. Lincoln said it will run a comprehensive search process to identify a permanent CFO, including consideration of both internal and external candidates.

Cohen joined Lincoln in 2022 as Chief Accounting Officer and took responsibility for Treasury in 2024. He also oversees enterprise expense management and fixed income investor relations, and previously served as CFO at Archwell and spent 13 years at EY in insurance audit and advisory roles.

Lincoln’s CEO Ellen Cooper said Neczypor provided leadership during a critical period for the company and highlighted Lincoln’s transformation progress. Cooper added that Cohen has strengthened financial controls and expense discipline, and that his capital markets experience through the funding agreement program positions him to lead finance while the search continues.
