1789 Capital closes $1.2B fund targeting $8B in Sun Belt real estate
The new fund, in partnership with Easton Street, plans to focus on housing and community development across states including Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia.
1789 Capital, a Trump Jr.-backed investment firm, has closed a $1.2B fund aimed at pursuing more than $8B in Sun Belt real estate deals, according to Bisnow. The strategy targets states that have seen population growth, including Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas.
Bisnow reports the firm is teaming with Florida-based real estate company Easton Street and plans to concentrate on areas such as housing, community development, manufacturing, and data centers. The fund is titled 1789 Real Estate Management LLC, and it is described as a development-oriented approach for the region.
The outlet also notes that in June, 1789 and Easton Street announced plans for a luxury 26-story condominium project in West Palm Beach, featuring full-floor units and a 10,500 SF private club.
According to Bisnow, 1789 was formed in 2022 by Omeed Malik, a former Bank of America executive, and Trump Jr. joined the firm in 2024. The report says assets under management increased to more than $3B, while Trump Jr. will sit on the investment committee for the real estate fund.
