Side launches SideOS to help independent brokers run operations end-to-end
The platform extends Side’s internal operating system, previously used across more than 600 Side partner real estate firms, to large independents and franchise-affiliated brokerages.
Side CEO Guy Gal says brokerage technology firm Side is betting on local and regional independent brokerages as industry consolidation reshapes the market. In that effort, the company has launched SideOS, an operating platform designed to help firms run their businesses end-to-end while keeping their own local brand, license, and leadership, HousingWire reports.
HousingWire reports that SideOS uses the same back-office platform that already supports the operations of more than 600 real estate companies that are part of Side’s brokerage network. SideOS extends access to that technology to large independent and franchise-affiliated brokerages that do not need to be brokered by Side.
In late July, Side announced that the platform became available beyond its brokerage umbrella, marking the first time the company has opened its internal operating system to the broader industry, according to HousingWire. Gal said SideOS is meant to be more than a transaction management tool, positioning it as a way for brokers to run their full operations without constantly tracking new technology and developments.
Gal also attributed the licensing decision to feedback he said Side received over the past year from independent brokerage owners, franchisees, and corporate firms seeking to understand how Side produces results. HousingWire reports that Side then spent roughly the prior 12 months preparing the platform to welcome large independents and franchises.
