Dartmouth endowment crypto holdings fall about $2M in three months
A SEC filing shows the endowment’s stake in Bitwise Solana staking, Grayscale Ethereum staking, and iShares Bitcoin ETFs was valued at about $12.4 million as of June 30, down from $14.6 million as of March 31.
Cointelegraph reports Dartmouth College’s $9 billion endowment cut its crypto-related exposure by more than $2 million over three months, as falling prices weighed on holdings tied to major digital-asset ETFs.
In a Thursday SEC filing, Dartmouth trustees said the endowment held about $12.4 million worth of the Bitwise Solana staking ETF, the Grayscale Ethereum staking ETF, and BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF as of June 30, while keeping the same number of ETF shares.
The endowment’s total value fell by about 15% since Dartmouth previously reported $14.6 million as of March 31, a decline the filing tied to weaker crypto prices.
Cointelegraph notes that since March 31, Bitcoin fell 7.7% to about $62,915, Solana declined 9.6% to about $75.11, and Ether slipped 10.8% to about $1,875. Dartmouth also reported adding crypto exposure to the endowment portfolio in 2025.
