Argentina corn exports hit record 5.14 million tonnes in July

July shipments were the largest on record for Argentina, and logistics were affected by recurring rains that slowed grain drying and delayed fieldwork.

Argentina shipped a record 5.14 million tonnes of corn in July, according to an Aug. 14 report from the Rosario Board of Trade, the biggest month for corn exports in the country’s history.

That figure topped the previous record of 5.08 million tonnes shipped in April, and total corn shipments for the season to date, from March to July, reached 22.21 million tonnes.

The Rosario exchange said recurring rains complicated export logistics by slowing grain drying and delaying fieldwork, while the corn harvest was 89% complete and running 8 percentage points behind the five-year average.

With 11.6 million hectares yet to be harvested, the board also raised Argentina’s 2025-26 crop estimate, according to the report.
