Au Vodka nears £500m sale to Sazerac, owner of BuzzBallz
The deal is expected to pay founders Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn more than £100m each, according to Sazerac.
Au Vodka, the Welsh vodka brand known for its gold bottles and ready-to-drink products, is nearing a sale valued at about £500m to Sazerac, the owner of BuzzBallz, BBC Business reports. Sazerac said it has agreed to buy the vodka start-up, with the deal first reported by Sky News.
BBC Wales reports that the transaction is expected to generate more than £100m each for Swansea-based founders Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn. The founders declined to comment on the deal.
Sazerac said the acquisition would help it deepen its presence in the UK, according to the outlet.
Au Vodka launched in 2015 and expanded into ready-to-drink cans that kept its gold branding. The company also opened a new headquarters in Swansea in 2025, adding a nine-hole mini golf course with golden obstacles and balls for visitors.
