Au Vodka reportedly nears £500m sale to Sazerac-backed Sazerac unit

The reported deal would value the Welsh ready-to-drink vodka brand at about £500m, according to the BBC Business summary of coverage.

Wales-based Au Vodka is reportedly nearing a sale deal worth about £500 million to Sazerac, the owner of Southern Comfort and BuzzBallz, according to BBC Business, citing Sky News.

The BBC Business report says the transaction is expected to generate more than £100 million each for Au Vodka founders Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn, who started the company in 2015 in Swansea.

BBC Business adds that Au Vodka built momentum in the UK’s ready-to-drink market and later expanded into new formats, including ready-to-drink cans with its gold branding.

The report also notes that in 2025 the founders opened a new headquarters in Swansea, and it describes Morgan and Quinn’s background before Au Vodka, including investment from DJ Charlie Sloth and celebrity attention such as a Jake Paul tattoo of the brand.
