Hill City Capital affiliate buys Spirit Airlines Dania Beach HQ for $93.25M

The auction purchase totals more than 600,000 square feet across four buildings on an 11-acre campus.

ConnectCRE reports that a Hill City Capital affiliate acquired Spirit Airlines’ shuttered headquarters campus in Dania Beach for $93.25 million at auction.

The office property spans more than 11 acres and includes over 600,000 square feet across four buildings, with uses that included corporate offices, an amenity building, a crew-training facility with flight simulators, and corporate housing. The facility was delivered just two years ago.

ConnectCRE said the low-cost carrier shut down abruptly on May 2 after a last-minute federal bailout failed to materialize, and about 17,000 employees lost their jobs.

With the airline no longer operating, its bankruptcy estate has begun monetizing remaining assets, including real estate, as Hill City Capital takes over the Dania Beach headquarters campus.
