Modi Naturals receives additional ethanol order worth ₹140 crore

The new 1.98 crore litre allocation is expected to ship until October 2026, lifting an existing deal valued at around ₹400 crore.

Modi Naturals is set to draw investor attention in Tuesday trade after receiving an additional ethanol order from oil marketing companies, according to LiveMint Markets.

In a post market regulatory filing on Monday, the company said its wholly owned subsidiary, Modi Biotech Private Limited (MBPL), received an allocation of 1.98 crore litres of ethanol for ESY 2025-26, with an estimated order value of ₹140 crore. Deliveries are expected to run until October 2026, in addition to an existing order worth about ₹400 crore for roughly 47.9 KLPD from various OMCs.

The company said its June quarter performance was steady, with revenue from operations rising marginally 0.4% year on year to ₹155.6 crore. It cited a planned maintenance shutdown of around 20 days and lower FCI rice prices affecting ethanol operations, while adding that underlying operating performance has improved significantly.

Modi Naturals also said it expects both the existing and expanded plants to be fully operational by the end of August 2026, supporting execution of the expanded order book and a ramp up over the rest of the ESY period. As part of its expansion, it began the second phase of ethanol capacity increasing from 130 KLPD to 282 KLPD, and it posted EBITDA up 25.6% to ₹22.2 crore with net profit after tax up 19.1% to ₹12.5 crore in Q1 FY27. The company guided FY27 revenue of ₹925–965 crore, versus ₹719 crore in FY26.
