Bitcoin stays above $64,000 as Treasurys cool and oil rises
CoinDesk reported the 30-year U.S. Treasury yield eased from a multi-decade high of 5.338% while WTI and Brent rose more than 0.5%.
Bitcoin remained above $64,000 as market moves elsewhere helped support risk sentiment, according to CoinDesk. Crude prices rose on Wednesday, with WTI up more than 0.5% to $85 a barrel and Brent up more than 0.5% to $92 a barrel. At the same time, the 30-year U.S. Treasury yield retreated slightly from its multi-decade high of 5.338%.
CoinDesk also noted there was no relief for European bond markets, with long-term yields in Germany and France continuing to rise.
CoinDesk further tied the broader market tone to crypto and equities, saying MicroStrategy shares fell more than 5% even as bitcoin rose, and that South Korea’s Kospi index slid 5.8%.
