RailTel stock jumps after EPFO work order extension
The contract extension is worth ₹166.80 crore and is scheduled for execution by February 2027.
RailTel Corporation of India shares surged in Wednesday trading, rising 7.5% to an intraday high of ₹297.60 after the state-owned firm secured an extension of an Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, or EPFO, work order.
According to LiveMint Markets, RailTel said the extended work order will run for one year and includes additional components. The company added that the order is scheduled to be executed by February 2027, with a value of ₹166.80 crore.
The new win marked RailTel’s fourth order in August so far, as the company also announced earlier contracts from the Deendayal Port Authority, the Department of Posts, and the North Western Railway unit of Ajmer.
Despite the rally, LiveMint Markets noted the stock has still been under pressure, ending each of the last three months lower and holding a 22% decline for 2026 so far, following an 8% drop in 2025.
