Solana and ether rise as Bitcoin holds near $64,250
Solana gained 2% to nearly $77, while ether added 1% to just over $1,900 as long-term U.S. bond yields stayed elevated ahead of Fed minutes.
CoinDesk reports that crypto prices were mixed but broadly higher, with bitcoin hovering around $64,250 as Solana and ether led weekly gains.
While Solana rose 2% to nearly $77, ether added 1% to just over $1,900 and led the week at 1.5%, with XRP recovering almost 1% to just under $1. BNB slipped marginally to just above $600 and is down 2% on the week, while Hyperliquid's HYPE fell over 1% to just over $58 but remains up 7% over seven days.
The session also coincided with a sharp global selloff in semiconductor stocks, led by declines in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix that pushed Korea's Kospi down over 6% and weighed on broader Asian indexes.
CoinDesk notes that investors were watching upcoming Federal Reserve minutes and a Jackson Hole appearance, with 30-year U.S. yields at the highest level since 2007 and the 10-year yield near early 2025 levels, conditions that can raise borrowing costs for AI-focused companies.
