Chaucer names Charlotte Allen Head of Underwriting Governance
Allen will lead Chaucer’s newly created Underwriting Governance function, joining the firm from Beazley where she served as Underwriting Governance Manager.
Global specialty insurer and reinsurer Chaucer has appointed Charlotte Allen as Head of Underwriting Governance, with responsibility for the company’s newly established Underwriting Governance function, as it works to strengthen its governance framework.
According to Reinsurance News, Allen joins Chaucer from Beazley, where she most recently worked as Underwriting Governance Manager. Her background also includes roles in investment compliance at Beazley beginning in 2017 and earlier experience at Janus Henderson Investors, Pictet Asset Management, Capital International, and CQS.
Chaucer’s appointment of Allen comes after other recent leadership moves at the company. In January 2026, Chaucer named Les Loh as Chief Executive Officer, Singapore, and Dan Bryan as Head of Reinsurance Asia Pacific, with Loh starting in March 2026 and Bryan starting in the second quarter of 2026.
