Stone Point buys Ever.Ag risk management to expand ag insurance specialty

The acquired business will operate independently with its existing management team and focus on dairy, swine, cattle and grain producers using insurance, advisory and commodity derivatives brokerage.

Stone Point Capital has acquired Ever.Ag's Risk Management business, extending the private equity firm's streak of insurance distribution deals into an agricultural specialty niche. The acquisition covers an agricultural risk provider that combines insurance placement, advisory services and commodity derivatives brokerage, serving agricultural producers, processors, cooperatives and manufacturers across dairy, swine, cattle and grain sectors, according to Insurance Business.

Stone Point said the Ever.Ag Risk Management unit will become an independent company under its existing management team and adopt a new brand. The companies also said they will maintain a strong commercial relationship with Ever.Ag, the ag-tech firm that is being spun out.

The deal follows Stone Point's prior insurance distribution investment activity, including a $15.5 billion deal for Truist Insurance Holdings completed in 2024 and a $2.5 billion investment in UK broker Ardonagh Group in 2025. Stone Point also holds stakes in Alliant Insurance Services and EPIC Insurance Brokers, expanding its portfolio across the US insurance distribution market.

Insurance Business highlighted that the transaction matters to brokers and MGAs in agricultural and commodity risk lines because it adds a newly independent, well-capitalized competitor under a new brand. The outlet also pointed to Stone Point's approach of building full-scale distribution platforms, suggesting additional consolidation could follow in ag-specialty risk management.
