Russia moves to restore fuel supply as refinery repairs resume
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said several refineries are back in operation and that supply could rise after repairs and logistics.
OilPrice reports that Russia is working to ease concerns about worsening domestic fuel shortages, as the country has faced a gasoline and diesel crunch since the spring amid Ukraine drone attacks on refineries.
The outlet says attacks have become nearly daily, with hits reaching more than 1,000 miles inside Russian territory, a campaign aimed at disrupting fuel supply both to front lines and the domestic market.
According to OilPrice, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, overseeing energy issues including Russia’s OPEC+ talks, said on Monday that some refineries have resumed operations after repairs and that the restart could soon increase domestic supply.
OilPrice adds that the crisis has included fuel rationing across many regions, gas stations running out of fuel in major cities, and long queues at stations during peak demand.
