Archer and AEG plan LA Live vertiport for electric air taxis
The Downtown Los Angeles site is slated to support Archer’s broader LA air taxi network ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games.
Archer Aviation and AEG said they are developing Downtown Los Angeles’ first vertiport for electric air taxis at LA Live, positioning the project next to major venues including the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena.
According to Bisnow, the agreement makes Archer the exclusive air taxi partner of LA Live, and Archer plans to display a new aircraft at the location in connection with the announcement.
The vertiport is intended to add to a network of secured sites across greater Los Angeles, including Los Angeles International Airport, SoFi Stadium, the University of Southern California, and the San Fernando Valley, while Archer is also the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
Bisnow noted that while regulations to support electric vertical takeoff and landing are not yet fully greenlit, the Federal Aviation Administration has been moving forward, including launching an air taxi pilot program in eight markets across the country in March.
