Fort Worth pitches $10.9M tax break for Carrier’s planned $433.8M plant
The proposal includes a Texas Enterprise Zone grant estimated at $2.5 million, plus commitments for at least 495 jobs and a $75,000 minimum average salary by 2029.
Carrier is considering a location competition that includes Fort Worth for a new manufacturing plant with a total planned investment of $433.8 million, according to ConnectCRE.
Fort Worth would offer a seven-year tax abatement valued at $10.9 million, and it would nominate Carrier for a Texas Enterprise Zone grant estimated at $2.5 million, as part of the incentive package.
Under the proposal, Carrier would need to complete a minimum capital investment of $433.8 million in the new plant by the end of 2028, including $36 million for real property construction costs and $397.8 million for equipping the facility.
Carrier would also commit to spending 30% of construction costs with small businesses and to creating at least 495 jobs by the end of 2029, with a minimum average salary of $75,000, the outlet said. The plant would be located at Alliance Westport 12, a 1.2 million-square-foot building being developed by Hillwood, and Carrier plans to decide in the third quarter of this year.
