Marsh files for Archer brand trademark for reinsurance and captive services

The trademark filing, dated August 13, covers services tied to reinsurance brokerage, insurance administration, and setting up captive insurers.

Marsh has filed a US trademark application for the name “Archer,” with coverage spanning reinsurance brokerage and intermediary services, insurance administration, and the formation, structuring, and management of captive insurers and reinsurance vehicles, according to Coverager.

The filing also includes actuarial, financial, and regulatory advisory services related to insurance and reinsurance, and Marsh has made corresponding trademark applications outside the US.

Coverager reports that Marsh filed in the European Union on August 4 and in the UK on August 5, and those applications extend to insurance and reinsurance risk consulting plus investment advisory and asset-management services for insurance and reinsurance vehicles.

Coverager adds that no public announcement or operational website for “Archer by Marsh” appears to have been released, and that the role is described as coordinating Marsh’s risk, capital, and advisory capabilities for digital infrastructure clients.
