Cotton futures hold steady with modest gains in front months

Cotton prices were up 3 to 8 points in the front months, while ICE certified stock levels rose to 66,327 bales as of August 25.

Cotton futures were broadly stable on Wednesday at midday, with contracts in the front months trading slightly higher, up about 3 to 8 points, according to Yahoo Finance.

Crude oil was up 28 cents per barrel, and the US dollar index was $0.272 higher, while the Cotlook A Index was unchanged on Tuesday at 98.20 cents.

ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 2,567 on August 25, bringing the certified stocks level to 66,327 bales.

The Adjusted World Price was also raised by 143 points last week to 69.62 cents per lb, according to the report.
