Mazda adds AAA and HAAS Alert alerts for stopped roadside vehicles
The feature works with Mazda’s 24/7 emergency roadside assistance and triggers “Slow Down, Move Over” warnings to approaching drivers via dashboards and navigation apps.
Mazda North American Operations has partnered with AAA and connected-vehicle technology company HAAS Alert to warn approaching drivers when an eligible Mazda vehicle is stopped on the roadside.
According to Coverager, eligible Mazda customers can request roadside assistance through the MyMazda app or by phone, with AAA dispatching a local service provider while HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud sends “Slow Down, Move Over” alerts to supported vehicle dashboards and navigation apps.
The roadside safety feature is available for eligible Mazda vehicles that include 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, and it builds on Mazda’s Emergency SOS and Find My via satellite functions, the outlet said.
Mazda also framed the update as extending protection beyond the initial crash moment, citing the danger to other drivers approaching stopped or disabled vehicles without warning.
