Lucid Bots signs lease for larger Charlotte headquarters

The company plans to move in December into a 45,000 SF site, doubling its current 22,500 SF footprint as demand grows.

Lucid Bots, a Charlotte-based robotics company that makes commercial robots and drones for building exterior cleaning, has signed a lease to relocate its headquarters within the city, according to the Charlotte Business Journal as cited by Bisnow.

The new facility is 45,000 SF at 9013 Perimeter Woods Drive, double the size of its current headquarters on Northpark Boulevard. The company reportedly plans to move offices in December, splitting the building between office space and warehouse space, along with a product testing area, space for events, and parking.

Bisnow reports that Lucid Bots has 80 employees and faced space constraints at its original location as demand increased. The move is intended to support product portfolio expansion and employee growth, the outlet said.

Lucid Bots previously raised $20 million in March in a Series B round while searching for a new headquarters location, and it ultimately chose to remain local despite offers to relocate to other cities, Bisnow added. The company’s founder and CEO, Andrew Ashur, told CBJ that Charlotte has been a strong place to grow from the early stage to the next chapter focused on scaling.
