Jay Badame joins Bravo Group as chief operating officer

Badame started the COO role Aug. 16, overseeing about 70 employees and planning to grow Bravo's roughly 150-person workforce.

Jay Badame has joined Bravo Group as chief operating officer, Commercial Observer reports, returning to the architecture, engineering, and construction management space about three years after his termination from AECOM Tishman as president of its construction management division.

In the new role, Bravo says Badame will manage the firm’s public- and private-sector projects. His background includes work on projects such as John F. Kennedy International Airport terminals 1 and 6, and SL Green Realty’s One Vanderbilt, where he built relationships with Bravo’s president and CEO, Ehab Shehata.

Bravo’s operating structure includes two subsidiaries, Velocity Architecture and Engineering Group and Bradford Construction, which together employ about 150 people. Badame began the role on Aug. 16, overseeing 70 employees, and said he plans to expand the companies, which primarily handle public-sector work for clients including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the New York City School Construction Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The outlet also reports that Badame served at AECOM Tishman for about 40 years, overseeing more than 400 projects across the country. Bravo says he also joined the company’s board of advisers, and Shehata called him well-suited to help lead the firm’s next growth phase.
