Hong Kong signs MOUs to commercialise advanced aerial tech
The agreements aim to merge Greater Bay Area testing and industrial production with Hong Kong’s strengths in standards setting, as the city pushes a regulatory scheme to test advanced aerial projects.
Hong Kong has signed two memorandums of understanding with partners in the Greater Bay Area to harmonise standards and commercialise advanced aerial technology, as the city accelerates its integration into national development plans, according to the SCMP Economy.
Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong Wai-lun said the cross-border pacts are designed to combine the Greater Bay Area’s production and testing capabilities with Hong Kong’s research strengths and role in setting standards.
Wong also said Hong Kong is moving ahead with a regulatory scheme to test advanced aerial projects, with the Belt and Road Summit serving as the setting for the announcement.
