Miners took a record share of 2026 TSX30 top performers
Eighteen mining companies entered the 2026 TSX30, up 57% from 2025, as precious and critical minerals stocks led three-year gains.
Mining companies accounted for a record 60% of the TSX30, the Toronto Stock Exchange’s annual list of the 30 top performers measured by three-year, dividend-adjusted share-price performance.
According to Mining.com, 18 mining firms made the 2026 ranking, a 57% increase from 2025. Montage Gold Corp. ranked second overall, posting a 2,502% three-year dividend-adjusted share-price appreciation, while Faraday Copper delivered a 688% gain, Aclara Resources advanced 587%, and Trilogy Metals rose 570%.
Gold, silver, and critical minerals developers continued to dominate the list, though with fewer pure gold and silver names than in 2025. The broader commodities mix also pointed to investors assigning more value to exposure to critical minerals as global demand rises.
Mining.com also noted that 11 of the 18 mining companies were graduates from the TSX Venture Exchange, highlighting the junior market’s role in moving companies from exploration toward larger-scale development and production. TSX CEO Loui Anastasopoulos said the venture exchange example shows how Canada’s capital markets can help build future Canadian champions as they grow into globally competitive firms.
