Community Investment Corp. closes $22.6M in loans and grants
The Chicago nonprofit lender said the first half of 2026 included funding tied to the preservation of 278 residential units.
Community Investment Corporation, a Chicago nonprofit lender focused on acquiring, rehabilitating, and preserving affordable rental housing, reported strong lending activity for the first half of 2026, according to ConnectCRE.
The organization said it closed $22.6 million in loans and grants during that period, supporting the preservation of 278 residential units.
ConnectCRE reports that Community Investment Corporation attributed the activity to ongoing demand for its loans, saying local owner-operators are still able to buy and improve buildings in its neighborhoods.
The lender, which is led by President and CEO Stacie Young, framed the results as a sign that responsible owner-operators remain active despite continued pressures on the housing market.
