ENN Group claims first hydrogen-boron fusion reaction on its device
The Langfang, Hebei-based firm said it reached high-parameter hydrogen-boron plasma control using its EXL-50U spherical tokamak.
ENN Group, based in Langfang, Hebei province, said it has achieved high-parameter hydrogen-boron plasma control, calling it a significant step toward neutron-free magnetic confinement fusion research.
The company said its EXL-50U compact spherical device produced a hydrogen-boron fusion reaction on its own, describing it as the first commercial fusion company to do so on its own equipment.
ENN Group contrasted its hydrogen-boron fuel approach with mainstream controlled fusion research, which commonly uses deuterium-tritium fuel, as reflected by the ITER project in France.
