Fortitude Re to acquire Dayforward assets and technology platform
The deal covers Dayforward’s technology platform, distribution agreements, and employees, but it does not include Dayforward’s insurance entities or legacy policies and liabilities.
Fortitude Re announced it will acquire substantially all of the assets of life insurance startup Dayforward through a newly formed entity that will be renamed Fortitude Life. Coverager reports that Fortitude Re will treat Dayforward’s team as continuing to lead the business, supported by Fortitude Re’s resources and capabilities.
Dayforward originally launched to offer life insurance and later developed an enterprise offering for carriers. The company shut down its consumer business last year, and it publicly disclosed $45 million in funding.
According to Coverager, the transaction includes Dayforward’s technology platform, distribution agreements, intellectual property, a licensed insurance agency, and employees.
The acquisition does not include Dayforward’s insurance entities, or its legacy policies and liabilities.
