Strategy buys 1,665 Bitcoin for $142.7M as holdings near 847,666

Strategy purchased 1,665 Bitcoin for about $142.7 million, lifting its total holdings to 847,666 BTC, according to a Sept. 28 8-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, as reported by Cointelegraph.

Cointelegraph reports that Strategy funded the purchase with proceeds from selling 1.47 million MSTR shares for $246.2 million.

Strategy said it bought the Bitcoin at an average price of $85,681 per coin between Monday and Sunday, and the company noted it has spent $63.95 billion on its Bitcoin holdings at an average price of $75,437 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses, according to Cointelegraph.

Cointelegraph also reported that Strategy used some of the funding from its stock sales for STRC preferred stock repurchases.
