Strategy raises Bitcoin treasury record after $143 million BTC buy
The purchase was funded with proceeds from Strategy selling $246.2 million of MSTR shares via its at-the-market program.
Strategy has set a new record for its Bitcoin holdings after buying an additional 1,665 BTC last week, pushing its treasury above the prior peak it reported in June, Decrypt reports. The company also continued managing its capital structure with buybacks of its preferred stock.
According to a Monday Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Strategy paid $142.7 million for the 1,665 BTC at an average price of $85,681 per coin. Strategy said its total holdings now stand at 847,666 BTC, acquired for $63.95 billion at an average price of $75,437 per Bitcoin.
Strategy said it also repurchased $152 million of its $STRC preferred stock. The company added that, as of 9/27/26, it held 847,666 BTC and $6.02 billion of USD assets.
Decrypt also noted that Strategy previously sold Bitcoin during the summer before resuming purchases in August. The filing attributes the latest BTC funding to net proceeds from selling 1.47 million MSTR shares during the week, generating $246.2 million, with $142.7 million directed to Bitcoin purchases and $103.5 million used to repurchase STRC preferred stock.
