Bitcoin falls to about $82,776 as US inflation worries rise
Bitcoin printed an intraday low of $82,775.94 after August job openings were little changed at 7.1 million.
CryptoSlate reports that Bitcoin slid after US data showed August job openings cooled modestly, while September household sentiment turned more worried about inflation and interest rates.
The outlet said Bitcoin logged an intraday low of $82,775.94, with attempts to reclaim the $84,000 support level tied more to the path of yields and new demand than to a single jobs report.
According to CryptoSlate, the Bureau of Labor Statistics put August job openings at 7.1 million, essentially flat versus a revised 7.3 million in July, with hires at 5.2 million, quits at 3.1 million, and layoffs and discharges essentially unchanged at 1.6 million.
CryptoSlate added that the Conference Board's September consumer confidence index fell to 81.9 from 88.6 in August, and that the labor and consumer surveys pointed to different pressures, leaving uncertainty around the pace of lower yields after September 29 releases.
