Westlight Capital founder Doug Faron highlights multifamily fundraising

Westlight, which was formed 10 months ago, has $750 million in assets under management, and Faron says relationships matter for fundraising.

Doug Faron, founder and managing partner at Westlight Capital, discussed the multifamily lending market with Commercial Observer, describing his background and how he approaches fundraising. Westlight is a West Palm Beach, Florida-based real estate investment firm focused on multifamily.

Commercial Observer reports that Westlight was formed only 10 months ago and already has $750 million in assets under management. Faron previously led Shoreham Capital, a venture aimed at building in the build-to-rent niche.

The outlet also notes that Faron honed his capital markets experience at CIM Group, where he spent 10 years as a managing director and led East Coast equity investments. Over the last 15 years, he has overseen $10 billion of real estate investments and developments.

Commercial Observer adds that Faron sat down to discuss the multifamily space nationally, including in Florida, and what he has learned about the importance of relationships when raising capital.
