EU agri-food exports increase in July as imports fall
July exports rose 5% month over month to €21.3 billion, while July imports fell 4% to €15.1 billion, with cereal imports down 11% year to date.
The EU reported higher agri-food exports in July while imports declined, citing lower wheat volumes and weaker rice prices and volumes, according to a report from the European Commission, as carried by World Grain.
In July, EU agri-food exports totaled €21.3 billion, up 5% from the previous month and up 3% versus July 2025, while cumulative exports for 2026 were down 1% year on year to €138.7 billion.
Imports totaled €15.1 billion in July, down 4% month over month and 6% below last year, with cumulative 2026 imports down 4% year on year to €108.6 billion.
World Grain also said cumulative cereal imports dropped 11% to €4.76 billion, driven by a 32% decline in wheat, mostly in volumes, and an 18% fall in rice volumes and prices.
