Hong Kong to expand IP financing sandbox after cheaper loans in trial
The HKMA said seven corporate users completed a nine-month trial and saw lower borrowing costs, prompting the government to add more banks and enterprises.
Hong Kong plans to expand its intellectual property financing sandbox, adding more participating banks and enterprises after a nine-month trial helped corporate users lower borrowing costs, according to SCMP Economy.
SCMP Economy reports that Hong Kong Monetary Authority banking supervisor Carmen Chu Lap-kiu said the program will help refine the IP ecosystem, including valuation practices, professional service costs, supporting measures, and market awareness.
Chu Lap-kiu made the comments on Wednesday, after seven corporate users participated in the trial, SCMP Economy added.
