India increases Middle East crude imports while cutting Russian purchases
Middle East crude imports averaged 3.0 million barrels per day this month, while India trimmed Russian flows despite a U.S. threat of 100% tariffs.
India is increasing its crude oil imports from Middle Eastern suppliers while reducing purchases of Russian crude, according to Indian media citing tracking data from Kpler, as reported by OilPrice.
OilPrice said Middle Eastern oil imports averaged 3.0 million barrels per day this month.
Despite the change in sourcing, the outlet reported that India is not planning to completely suspend Russian oil imports, even with the U.S. threat of 100% tariffs.
OilPrice attributed the assessment to Kpler data, noting the shift in India’s crude buying patterns away from Russia and toward the Middle East.
