Skyward expands ibott autonomous vehicle insurance into US primary market

Skyward Specialty is expanding ibott’s autonomous vehicle insurance offering into the US primary market, according to Coverager.

The expansion is intended to draw on Skyward Specialty and Apollo capabilities to build coverage tailored to the way customers’ operations work, the outlet said.

Coverager also reported that ibott has more than a decade of experience insuring autonomous-vehicle and digital economy businesses, and that the firm plans to extend its risk expertise into primary coverage.

In comments cited by Coverager, ibott’s chief underwriting officer Chris Moore said the insurer’s approach is designed around how these businesses actually operate, and that it will apply its expertise to create solutions specific to customer needs.
