We Recycle Solar plans first US critical materials recovery facility in Texas
The Arizona-based company expects the Texas plant to start commercial operations in Q3 2027 and recover up to 96% of key materials from retired solar panels.
We Recycle Solar, an Arizona-based company, said it plans to build what it called the first end-to-end critical materials recovery facility for retired solar panels in the US in Texas, with the commercial-scale plant scheduled to launch in Q3 2027, according to Mining.com.
The company said the facility, planned for a 10-acre campus outside Dallas, will recover up to 96% of the silver, copper, silicon, aluminum, and glass contained in end-of-life solar panels and produce clean, market-ready critical materials for direct resale through a fully domestic process, with zero offshore processing.
We Recycle Solar also said the Texas site will be the first in a network of high-efficiency critical material recovery facilities it plans to develop, adding that it expects to invest an estimated $100 million over the next four years to build four additional locations across the US.
