Brent stays above $102 as Gulf export rebound offsets Middle East risk
Brent was at $102.4 per barrel and WTI at $92.7, with both benchmarks holding onto recent gains despite new reports of U.S. troop movements.
Crude oil prices were set for a modest weekly decline as a rebound in oil flows from the Persian Gulf outweighed news of additional U.S. troop deployments to the Middle East, according to OilPrice. The report also pointed to China’s decision to halt fuel exports this month as another factor in the market mix.
At the time of writing, Brent crude traded around $102.4 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate was near $92.7. OilPrice also noted that both benchmarks had posted strong results heading into the session.
