Hong Kong ranks 7th in next-gen wealth hub index, behind Singapore
Savills said Hong Kong and Singapore are competing to attract and retain the next generation of high-net-worth individuals as wealth transfers between generations.
Hong Kong placed seventh globally in a Savills study focused on attracting and retaining the next generation of high-net-worth individuals, with Singapore ranked sixth. The result points to an ongoing push by both finance hubs to strengthen their roles as Asia-Pacific wealth-management centers.
Savills tied the ranking to its Next-Generation Wealth Hubs Index, released on Thursday. The index also frames the effort as part of an unprecedented transfer of wealth between generations worldwide.
The study said Hong Kong offers incentives similar to Singapore, according to the firm’s commentary around the index.
