India stock exchanges close for Gandhi Jayanti on Oct. 2
BSE and NSE suspend trading not only in equities and derivatives, but also in currency derivatives, NDS-RST and tri-party repo, while commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts are shut too.
LiveMint Markets reports that India’s BSE and NSE will close for trading on Friday, October 2, due to Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.
The exchanges will suspend activity across major segments including equities, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, NDS-RST, and tri-party repo, while commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) will also remain closed.
LiveMint Markets adds that October’s market shutdowns also include Tuesday, October 20 for Dussehra. MCX and NCDEX will likewise be closed for trading on October 2, according to the exchanges’ holiday calendars.
