Hong Kong Airlines flight to Okinawa returns after landing gear issue

The aircraft landed safely at 10:00am, and Hong Kong Airlines delayed the trip of 160 passengers by about 2.5 hours.

A Hong Kong Airlines flight bound for Okinawa returned to Hong Kong airport on Sunday after a suspected landing gear problem, the South China Morning Post reported. The airline said the crew of flight HX676 noticed an issue in which the landing gear may not have fully retracted after take off, prompting the return under standard safety procedures.

According to SCMP, the flight departed at 8:57am and landed safely at 10:00am, with no injuries reported onboard. The airline then arranged an alternative flight for the 160 affected passengers, delaying their departure by about 2.5 hours.
