Noel Tata requests video and minutes from Sept 17 board meeting
The Sept 17 vote decided Tata Sons Chair N. Chandrasekaran’s reappointment for a third five-year term starting February 2027, with Noel Tata the only dissenting board member.
LiveMint Markets reports that Noel Tata, chairman of Tata Trusts, has written to the Tata Sons board seeking information related to the company’s September 17 meeting.
According to the report, Noel Tata asked for details on the video recording and the meeting minutes, as well as questioned legal opinions tied to Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran’s reappointment.
The same report says the Tata Sons board on September 17, 2026 approved a third five-year term for Chandrasekaran beginning in February 2027, with the vote passing 4:1.
It also notes Noel Tata was the sole board member to vote against the extension and characterized the board resolution as a legal nullity.
